The SilMan Sales Team
A complete team of in-house professionals will support your efforts, including:
- Engineering: Collaborate with our estimating, design, and applications team to develop winning proposals.
- Marketing: Work closely with marketing to build focused content and campaigns.
- Project Management: Project managers are closely involved in the final closing to ensure efficient hand-off and execution.
- Sales: The business development team meets regularly to collaborate, strategize, discuss leads, and continually improve materials and processes to identify opportunities and improve the sales cycle.

As our System Integration BDM, you will expand on SilMan’s success by identifying opportunities and preparing winning proposals for projects like these: Multi-site improvements for OnTrac’s West Coast network, including system expansion in Buckeye, Ariz.; Order fulfillment system for medical device provider; Pack-out system for ThredUP; Shipping system for Levi Strauss, and Cooperage manufacturing.

What does the National Business Development Manager do?
The Systems Integration National Business Development Manager BDM identifies and qualifies leads and nurtures strategic client and partner relationships with leading fulfillment, distribution, parcel carriers, manufacturers, and solution providers. The BDM will respond to RFPs, identify opportunities within existing networks, forge new relationships through prospecting, and conduct market research.

As a vital member of the "Biz Dev" Team, the BDM effectively executes tasks such as:
- Develop, qualify, and manage strategic client relationships and sales opportunities.
- Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential new clients.
- Engage with business development leaders and team members individually and in group settings.
- Raise awareness by participating in industry groups (MHI, MHEDA) and collaborative content with marketing
- Build and maintain strategic partner relationships to support the business development and sales processes.
- Research existing offerings and the latest industry trends to identify new opportunities.
- Work with the Sales Team, Engineers, and Estimators to produce client proposals and change orders.
- Report to, share, and collaborate with Leaders and the Sales Team.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Strong knowledge of solutions and relationships within Distribution, Fulfillment, and E-Commerce environments
- Proven track record of success in B2B sales, with a minimum of ten years of industry experience within material handling system integration environments, selling material handling solutions
- Ability to travel up to approximately 50 % as needed (National)
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar)
- Familiarity with Project Management Software (Procore or similar)

Compensation
SilMan’s compensation packages are carefully tailored to each candidate’s experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. Our competitive base salary ranges are researched and benchmarked against peer companies at a similar growth stage.
The anticipated compensation package includes:

Office Location: Remote
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
In addition to understanding the safety and operational norms of industrial settings, the BDM operates in a professional office environment and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Travel is required for this role, subject to the approval of the Team Leader.
