The SilMan Sales Team

This role is supported by a full team of professionals, including:

  • Engineering: Collaborate with our estimating, design, and applications team to develop winning proposals.
  • Marketing: Collaborate closely with marketing to develop targeted content and campaigns.
  • Project Management: Project managers are closely involved in the final closing to ensure efficient hand-off and execution.
  • Sales: The business development team meets regularly to collaborate, strategize, discuss leads, and continually improve materials and processes to identify opportunities and improve the sales cycle.

SilMan in the Marketplace: Depth and Breadth of Performance

SilMan Industries is a leading system integration company and is a licensed general contractor in over 40 states. Our team has built a deep portfolio working with leading parcel, distribution, and fulfillment companies.

SilMan’s Construction BDM will identify and prepare winning proposals for projects such as Air Cargo Handling Systems, Baggage Handling Systems, Industrial Infrastructure, Food and Beverage Facilities and Systems, Electrical Systems, and Auto Manufacturing projects.

Service Area and Residence

The Construction Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities in the Western US states.

The SilMan Sales Team is based in Seattle and meets in person regularly. The successful candidate must reside in the Pacific Northwest, preferably in the greater Seattle area or the Portland area.

What does the Construction Business Development Manager do?

The Construction Business Development Manager is responsible for the outreach, development, qualification, and management of strategic client partnerships for SilMan's industrial construction division.

The BDM is also responsible for sourcing new sales opportunities through existing relationships and contacts, conducting market research, and developing new relationships and contacts. This role regularly communicates and collaborates with other business development, sales, marketing, and estimating team members to pursue leads and move them through the sales cycle.

This individual understands and embraces SilMan's culture, supporting the company's policies, procedures, and vision in a confidential and professional manner.

Here are some of the responsibilities of this role

  • As a vital member of the "BizDev" Team, the BDM effectively executes tasks such as:
  • Develop, qualify, and manage strategic client relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential new clients.
  • Engage with business development leaders and team members individually and in group settings.
  • Document activity on Salesforce.
  • Develop a strong understanding of SilMan Products and Services.
  • Research existing services and the latest industry trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Raise visibility and awareness of SilMan's capabilities and services with new and existing clients and contacts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales content, including success stories and supporting materials for business development and sales processes.
  • Build and maintain strategic partner relationships to support the business development and sales processes.
  • Work with Team Leads and Estimators to produce client proposals and change orders.
  • Maintain and exceed sales quota and monthly reporting requirements.
  • Inspire excitement and confidence with new client contacts and leads.
  • Create and maintain a drip marketing plan for new and existing contacts.

Compensation

SilMan’s compensation packages are carefully tailored to each candidate’s experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. Our competitive base salary ranges are researched and benchmarked against peer companies at a similar growth stage.

The anticipated compensation package includes:

  • Competitive Base Salary

Office Location: Remote, Pacific Northwest

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

In addition to understanding the safety and operational norms of industrial settings, the BDM operates in a professional office environment and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Travel is required for this role, subject to the approval of the Team Leader.
