SilMan Offers Updated COVID-19 Plan to All

Too Important to Keep to Ourselves
In early April SilMan’s Safety Team developed a COVID-19 plan to support ongoing operations during the pandemic. The document was shared with our clients, partners, and our wider network via social media. We are humbled to see how well the document was received, along with the positive feedback regarding its usefulness.
We have recently updated and republished the plan and are once again making the document available to the public. While we are headquartered in Northern California, SilMan is active on a number of projects nationwide. The newly released version addresses a variety of local and regional guidance, as well as direction from federal agencies.
The document’s full title is COVID-19 Exposure Control, Prevention, and Response Plan, aka “Pandemic Preparedness Plan.”

Why the Update?
The pandemic has forced many employers to adapt their business strategies/models, in order to comply with current laws and keep our team safe, while avoiding fines and shut-downs.
Now, due to recent updates from the CDC, WHO, and including Department of Labor laws that affect our organization, we have published a revised version of our COVID plan.
All affected businesses are required to have a COVID exposure control plan. In addition to the creation and implementation of the plan, it must also be updated and maintained.
This mandate, along with our own commitment to support the safety and health of our team, is the backdrop to the new version.

Update Highlights
- Incorporated Pandemic Preparedness Plan elements for future use
- Revisions based on recently updated Health Orders and CDC/WHO recommendations
- Developed separate protocols and preventative health Measures between our home offices and small construction projects
- Updated site postings
- Incorporated the use of face-coverings in lieu of N95 masks
- Added protocols for different “exposure situations”
- Added section “Work Strategy for Large-Case Exposure Event – Continuity Plan of Operations”
- Added a “Training” section
- Revised and added team member notification letters based on different exposure situations
