West Coast-based material-handling integrator deepens Midwest footprint

San Leandro, Calif.: GE Appliances, a Haier company, has contracted SilMan Industries to support upgrades to their Louisville, Kentucky operations.  The project will be executed by SilMan’s Material Handling Division and will utilize their design, engineering and installation resources.  This is SilMan’s first contract with GE Appliances, which will be managed from their Bardstown, Ky. office.

About the Project

The undertaking will run parallel to daily operations, requiring no down-time. Scope for the contract includes controls (hardware, software, and programming), installation of new equipment and modifications to, and integration with, existing equipment.

Camron Franklin, SilMan’s account manager for the project, said, “our team’s in-house knowledge-set was key to winning this contract, bringing unique insights to GE’s operation.” Noting the firm’s national growth strategy, David Rebata, who leads the material handling division, added “this contract is a great fit for our skillset and helps communicate our capabilities to this vibrant industrial community.”
