SilMan is seeking an account management professional to cultivate lasting relationships to create client-partners for our SilMan’s Specialty Trade Services team. As the Key Account Manager (KAM), you will play a crucial role in driving client retention and revenue growth for our material handling division.

The Specialty Trade Services (STS) team is the backbone of SilMan’s commitment to self-performance across design, implementation, and lifecycle services. Far beyond “hiring labor” for field work, this in-house super team is composed of highly trained and experienced trade professionals who deliver unique insight and expertise to every project phase, from the ground up and the walls in:

The SilMan Business Development Team

  • Engineering: Collaborate with our estimating, design, and applications team to develop winning proposals.
  • Marketing: Work closely with marketing to develop focused content, collateral, and social media campaigns.

Air Knife Parcel Ejection, Electrical System upgrades, Automated Parcel Sorting, Robotic Tote Sortation, a multi-site update for FedEx Ground, Street-Level Subway Access Canopies for BART, Multi-Site Improvements for OntracPack-Out System For ThredupA Parking Lot-To-Last-Mile Parcel Delivery Facility in 90 Days; and Automotive Plant Decommissioning and Dismantling.

Service Area and Residence

The KAM is a remote opportunity serving SilMan’s national footprint, ideally located with access to the Midwest automotive corridor between Columbus and Detroit, and connectivity to the Southeast automotive hub centered around Atlanta.

What does the Key Account Manager do?

The KAM nurtures strategic client and partner relationships, responds to RFPs, and identifies opportunities within existing networks.

As a vital member of the SilMan Sales Team, the KAM effectively executes tasks such as:

  • Manage strategic client relationships and identify new opportunities with existing networks
  • Client advocacy in contract negotiations to ensure customer satisfaction through effective account management
  • Identify opportunities, conduct site assessments, collaborate with the Sales Team, Engineers, and Estimators to produce client proposals and change orders, & sell projects
  • Report to, share, and collaborate with STS Leaders and the Sales Team

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 Proven track record of success in B2B sales, with a minimum of eight years of industry experience within the automotive industry

  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, with a minimum of eight years of industry experience selling services or solutions within the automotive industry
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 30% as needed (National)
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar)
  • Familiarity with Project Management Software (Procore or similar)

Compensation

SilMan’s compensation packages are carefully tailored to each candidate’s experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. Our competitive base salary ranges are researched and benchmarked against peer companies at a similar growth stage.

The anticipated compensation package includes:

Office Location: Remote

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

In addition to understanding the safety and operational norms of industrial settings, the KAM operates in a professional office environment and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Travel is required for this role, subject to the Team Leader’s approval.
