San Leandro, Calif.: BASF and SilMan Industries are continuing their multistate relationship at the chemical producer’s plant in Decatur, Alabama.

BASF / Decatur Project

The project is to be managed from the SilMan Industries facility in Tupelo, Mississippi, led by Tommy Ethridge.

SilMan in the Southeast

The BASF contract reflects SilMan’s continued growth in Southern states as a material handling solutions provider.

SilMan first made their mark in the Southeast by relocating Toyota’s NUMMI assembly equipment to Blue Springs, Mississippi in 2010.  During the protracted installation period, SilMan established office, shop, and warehouse infrastructure.

Other manufacturing clients served in the area include Tyson and Trane, and uniquely, the company has developed a specialization in the Cooperage industry (Brown-Forman, Speyside, and McGinnis Wood Products).

The company also regularly provides warehouse support for parcel and distribution giants Amazon, FedEx, and UPS at numerous locations from Georgia to Texas.

In addition to being a base for field operations, the Tupelo office is home to SilMan’s engineering team and controls groups. Tommy Ethridge leads the Tupelo team.

BASF and SilMan Industries

The BASF range of businesses is a perfect match for the multiple-discipline capabilities at SilMan Industries. BASF’s marketing-leading position in diverse sectors such as construction and automotive allow SilMan to deploy the full array of their integrated solution, engineering, and specialized equipment services capabilities.

In addition to material handling projects, the companies regularly work together on equipment and infrastructure projects in California, Mississippi, and Alabama, performed by SilMan’s Site Services division.
