City of Fremont to Update Park Signage
SilMan Industries awarded a contract to replace park signage citywide
San Leandro, Calif.: In a continuing effort to update park properties, the City of Fremont awarded a contract called “Citywide Parks Identification Signs Improvements” to SilMan Industries in July 2019. Active site work on the project has recently commenced, replacing 72 signs at 27 city parks, including the installation of new sign lighting at 9 of these parks.

About the Project
The scope of work includes the demolition and removal of current signage, the construction of stone and concrete “memorial style” signs, and the installation of in-ground uplighting. The project also includes landscaping and below-grade wiring. SilMan will manage the procurement of all fixtures and materials, providing equipment, labor, and project management services. The City of Fremont’s Landscape Architecture division is responsible for the initiative, managed by Andrew Mayes. The project is expected to be completed in early January 2020.
“Pride in our work ethic and workmanship always runs high with SilMan field and office teams, but it is especially true about our public works portfolio,” said Shellia Jefferson, project manager for the Fremont parks contract.
Beyond the parks’ signage project, the City of Fremont is actively engaged in improving and expanding city parks. Follow this link to learn more about Fremont parks planning and design.
