Largest Parking System in the Northwest!
SilMan Industries provides Mechanical and Electrical installation services for Olympia, Washington project.
The project is known as “Views on Fifth.” The project, which commenced operations in July of 2020, is reported to be the largest fully automated parking system in the Pacific Northwest.

Scope of Work
SilMan team members were onsite for this undertaking, formally known as “View on 5th Tower Tandem Puzzle Lift Mechanical & Electrical Installation,” from April to December 2019.
Our Site Services team provided mechanical and electrical services for the installation of the three-level lift solution, including three lifts and entry bays for 144 parking spaces.
Highlights include:
Mechanical
- Project management, safety, procurement, and scheduling.
- Create site-specific JSA’s and related safety documentation
- Install 600,000 lbs. of structural steel.
- Installation of mechanical devices including motors, chains, sprockets, and associated system parts.
- Installation of Electronic sensors including solenoids, low voltage sensors, gate sensors, PLC control board, and limits.
Electrical
- Installation of six PLC cabinets (two per lift).
- Furnish and Install raceway and wiring for each PLC Location [24 motors per tower (72)].
- Commission all electrical support devices.
- Installation of 60 sensors per elevator (180 total).
- Testing of operational functionality.
Challenges
The main challenges for the SilMan team on the project were inclement weather and installation intricacies unique to this location.
SilMan account manager, Jeff Piazza, noted these obstacles saying, “the team did a great job adapting to the environment and provided a variety of custom technical solutions in the course of the installation.”
