Cool Port for the Port of Oakland Seaport
Port of Oakland & SilMan Industries: a continuing relationship
We recently came across photos from the Ribbon-Cutting for the Cool Port completed at the Port of Oakland in 2018. SilMan is proud to be associated with this exciting community effort. We thought these were pretty nice shots, and the story was worth remembering.
Team SilMan provided mechanical and electrical installation of 108 dock levelers on the project: 90 truck doors, 18 rail doors. SilMan was brought into the project based on successful previous experiences with the Port Authority.
Team member Jeff Piazza is the account manager for this project.

About the Project
The project is described by the agency as “the development and operation of a temperature-controlled transload and distribution facility to maximize use of the Port’s road, rail, and shipping network to increase the import and export of perishable food products.”
The Port of Oakland engaged Fisher Construction Group as the General Contractor.
Installation was completed by SilMan’s Specialty Trade team.
