SilMan Industries Returns to the Oakland Airport
SilMan Industries has returned to the Oakland Airport to enhance existing infrastructure and implement additional technology at the UPS air operations facility. This is Phase Two of upgrades undertaken at the aviation port of the UPS facility.
Work has commenced on Phase Two for these improvements, despite challenges posed by the Coronavirus Pandemic and air quality issues stemming from the recent fires across Northern California.
UPS Air Operations Improvements at Oakland International
SilMan’s team, representing the company’s Construction Division, will perform in four areas of discipline – engineering, civil, mechanical, and electrical – to install 22 Scissor Lift Tables and Five Scales. The scales are to be embedded within the existing caster deck.
Phase One of the project, a 43k sq/ft caster deck, was installed by the SilMan Team in the fall of 2019. Here is a summary of that project including images.
SilMan Industries has a long history working with the Port of Oakland, including the Terminal 2 Baggage Inspection System, and Terminal 1 e-GSE Charging Stations.
The expected completion date for the project is fall 2020.
