Named as Vice Presidents of Operations

SilMan Industries Signals Continued National Growth with Key Promotions

San Leandro, Calif. – February 26, 2024 SilMan Industries, a leading provider of specialized industrial services and solutions, has announced the strategic promotions of Jeff Piazza and Tommy Ethridge to Regional Vice Presidents of Operations for the Western and Southern regions, respectively. The move creates enhanced collaboration between distributed project coordination and execution teams and signifies the firm’s commitment to serve clients with greater efficiency and expertise as its national footprint grows.

“We are grateful for an expanding network of valued clients. These new roles create flexibility at scale to ensure our team continues to deliver as promised,” said Tom Mangin, co-founder of SilMan Industries. “Jeff and Tommy bring unique experiences and wisdom that reflect our aspiration to build a national brand based on authentic relationships and quality outcomes.”

Jeff Piazza brings over decades of experience in the industrial sector, coming up as a Union Millwright (Local 102). He has led SilMan’s specialty trades service operations, including account management and bid preparation, for the past 16 years. In his new role, Piazza will oversee field operations for the Western region and ensure seamless collaboration with Mr. Ethridge and his teams. Mr. Piazza enjoys the unique position of “Team Member #1” as the first employee of SilMan Industries.

Piazza commented on the move, saying, “Luckily, I have been a part of this company from the beginning and am amazed by how far we have come. I am especially looking forward to the leadership aspect of my new role, bringing up a new generation of leaders and continuing to develop SilMan’s unique way of problem-solving and delivering value to our clients.”

Tommy Ethridge joined SilMan Industries in 2013. He is the General Manager of the Tupelo, Mississippi office, coordinating engineering and field operations and managing key material handling accounts, including a specialization in Cooperages. As Vice President of Southern Operations, Ethridge will lead Tupelo-based project execution teams, working closely with Mr. Piazza as teams service a sprawling network of client facilities. Mr. Ethridge will continue as an essential partner with the Tupelo-based engineering team and their interaction with internal and external project groups.

“It is impossible to discuss this role change without acknowledging the amazing team that has evolved out of the Tupelo office,” Tommy reflected. “Uniting the West Coast and Southern teams is a natural extension of our one-team approach, which is the core of client retention and attracting new business for SilMan.”

Efficiency and Strategic Growth

The appointment of Messrs. Piazza and Ethridge will impact the company in four areas:

  • Build team culture: Regional leaders will have increased first-hand opportunties to impart brand mission and values to an increasingly distributed team.
  • Drive operational excellence: Implement best practices and processes to deliver consistent, high-quality results across all regions.
  • Enhance collaboration: Foster communication and knowledge sharing between regional teams, leveraging collective expertise.
  • Expand national reach:  Improved integration of distributed teams supports increased  geographical reach.
