Today we stand with International Women’s Day and their supporters, and are grateful to the organization for their efforts around the world to empower women. We heartily embrace and amplify their call to action:
An equal world is an enabled world. How will you help forge a gender equal world?
Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.
In addition, the Team at SilMan Industries wishes to add their statement of intent:
“We believe the Team that will lead SilMan into the future has no title or gender, and will only be defined by the value that each of us brings to our clients, partners, and each other. We are truly grateful for the wonderful women on our team and we join our voices with everyone that believes that gender inequality should be something of the past.”

Diversity at SilMan
From the beginning, SilMan Industries has been committed to building a 21st-century organization, free of labels or titles. The founders looked into the world and were puzzled by the adherence to titles that define and divide people from one another as if they were a badge of honor.
Instead, they built their company on the conviction that to create the best possible team, they must focus on the unique value each team member brings to the company and its customers.

2020 is a pivotal year for advancing gender equality, and the women and men of SilMan are all doing their part to play a role in this new order.
Co-founder Rick Silva, who leads SilMan’s operations, says “I am very excited to see the individuality these strong women bring to our team.”
“Every day at SilMan our team seeks to challenge gender stereotypes,” Silva continued, “not only in the population in general but specifically in the industrial construction and material handling sectors, which have been predominantly male throughout the entire modern era.”
SilMan has learned by experience that the women on our team – whether in engineering, project management, safety, or administration – bring unique points of view, expertise, and energy to the entire team. We see the same effect from the women in Trades that we have the opportunity to work with across the country.
