A Shout-out for the Night Crew!
BART Canopies Project nears completion
As our downtown San Francisco BART project begins to wind up, it is high time we give a shout-out to our amazing Night Crew. These guys do their magic while the rest of us sleep. Moreover, any visitor to the site will tell you, this is a tight-knit, upbeat group of tradesmen. Our Hard Hats are off to you, gentlemen. #attitudeiseverything
Likewise, everyone at SilMan extends a special thanks to Alex Breitenbach and Scott Wattenbarger for their relentless leadership on this project. These guys have been navigating six public agencies! Great job, fellas!
More about the project
The Powell and Civic Center stations are the first two renovations of a broad and bold project to update street entrances. The project is intended to not only update the aging structures, but will provide additional security measures such as locking gates when the station is closed.
These stations are only the beginning. According BART’s site there is a lot more to go:
The canopies are going up in conjunction with a project that will replace 40 escalators: 22 escalators from the street to concourse level, and 18 escalators from the Concourse to Platform level.
